EPISODE 1 also generated a record number of souvenir brochures and magazine supplements in the uk newspapers. The SUNDAY TIMES special was probably the best of the bunch but here are a few more that may have escaped fan attention.
The MIRROR specials re-used shots from the VANITY FAIR special but also had some pics not seen in VF.
I had that Mirror pt 2 section (in fact, I probably still have it). It features a gorgeously staged Obi-Wan Kenobi v. Darth Maul fight on the Tatooine sands photographed by Annie Liebovitz which did not happen in the film. This image in fact:

The image had so much promise, a real shame it was just a publicity piece.
I'm not a detractor of Episode One, I should add. It has its flaws and is not a patch on the original trilogy, but it's a fun film.
agreed ,the prequels still get a lot of knocks but there is a lot of good stuff in them.
