1998 : WHEN DICAPRIO AND DUCHOVNY RULED THE NEWS STAND

Here is a scan from a recent issue of    ENTERTAINMENT   WEEKLY.

The movie   TITANIC   certainly generated a lot of media coverage upon its release at the end of 1997.

It reminded me of a similar article on   THE  X-FILES   back in the summer of   1998.

The show was at its absolute peak with both a hit show on tv  and a spin-off movie in  theatres.

As a tie-in with   FIGHT  THE   FUTURE ,  the  uk   Sunday   Times   published a special supplement which included   this  gallery of  mag  covers.

Its quite staggering just  how  dominant   Mulder  and  Scully   were in  print media at that time.

  1. I've never seen Titanic. And I never got into the X-Files. Reading that back makes it sound like the 1990s passed me by.

  2. I've only seen TITANIC the one time but THE X-FILES was huge in its day, the hottest show on the planet.

Hard to believe now in light of the lukewarm reception to the recent so-so revival.
