The movie TITANIC certainly generated a lot of media coverage upon its release at the end of 1997.
It reminded me of a similar article on THE X-FILES back in the summer of 1998.
The show was at its absolute peak with both a hit show on tv and a spin-off movie in theatres.
As a tie-in with FIGHT THE FUTURE , the uk Sunday Times published a special supplement which included this gallery of mag covers.
Its quite staggering just how dominant Mulder and Scully were in print media at that time.
I've never seen Titanic. And I never got into the X-Files. Reading that back makes it sound like the 1990s passed me by.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen TITANIC the one time but THE X-FILES was huge in its day, the hottest show on the planet.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe now in light of the lukewarm reception to the recent so-so revival.
